I have to share because even though at the time I was about in tears it makes me laugh now. Monday is my Costco day with Wyatt and London. It is one of the more exhausting things I do in my life so I try and get all pumped up for the event by listening to loud music and eating a heavy dose of sugar before we go. Wyatt usually makes his rounds in the store by grabbing and running, grabbing and running some more but on this particular Costco trip he was a perfect angel. I couldn't believe how our shopping experience was pure bliss and I was hoping this was the dawn of a new era for Wyatt. As we were leaving I asked him if he wanted to stop and get some lunch. As we sat down to enjoy our chicken bake together I thought I would profess my love to Wyatt. I wanted to do the psychology thing where you point out all the good so they keeping trying to be good. I went on and on about how there was no one else in the whole world who I would rather be with than him at that moment. I told him how he was just the best child in the whole world and I loved him so much. When I was finally finished with the plethora of complements he turned to me and simply replied, "But mommy I don't love you, I love daddy!" I gathered up our food and decided it was time to go, our good thing had come to an end.
I can't feel better

That is the funniest story! I love it! Can I just say I was in shock when I saw you posted something. I guess you came out of blogging retirement! Good to see you back!!
Isn't being a Mom humbling? If it makes you feel any better I've been told that I am not fun, "Dad is the fun one." Apparently, all I am good at is making everyone do those nasty chores.
That's classic! I love those mommy moments. Kids say the greatest things at the best moments. Sounds like a fabulous personality Wyatt has.
Too too funny. Don't worry you'll be able to use this later when he's older and he'll feel soooo baaad and then he'll do all the chores plus more for you.
Pay back time is coming Wyatt!!!!!
Plus you always have that sweet baby London that'll be mommy's fav for sure, just look at all the cute outfits that girl gets to wear!
happy Birthday too!!! looks like a fun time you had. 34 isn't so bad is it??? I'm that old too.. yikes!! were did the time go?
Oh Lisa, that is so funny!! See what I have to look forward to when we start having kids!! OH BOY, MAYBE I SHOULDN'T BE ASKING FOR THAT!! :)
Ya I get that too. Along with "You're not a fun mommy!" and or my personal favorite, "I don't like you" to which I faithfully respond: "Good. That means I'm doing my job!"
Then again sometimes they say things like "I love you all the way up to the edge of outer space."
Either way we get the last laugh when we get old and crabby and they have to deal with us!
That is so funny one time Ryan took James fishing for the day and he said James do you know who I would rather go fishing with than anyone else in the world? And James said who and Ryan said you. James then told Ryan do you know who I would rather go fishing with in the whole wide world and Ryan said who? James said cousin Alex!!! Your story reminded me of that. I am glad Costco is getting easier.
Lisa! So glad you are back! I am going to have to pick your brain about Disneyland. We have never taken our kids (I know, they are deprived) but we are going to surprise them with a trip there for Dalton's birthday in February. Just thinking about it makes me a little overwhelmed! Any tips from an old pro?? Love all the pictures!
Thanks for Sharing!
Costco can really bring out the best and the worst in all of us! Darn that great place!
