OH NO- NOT NOW!!!!!

Yesterday I received the dreaded phone call that every mom thinks about when her child leaves every morning. It's when the caller ID says the school is calling. You hope it is just because your child is out of lunch money or forgot some homework but this phone call was not about that. It was the receptionist telling us that Brayden was hurt at recess playing soccer and his leg might be broken, they were to afraid to move him so they have called an ambulance. There was panic, tears, then more panic. Chip and I arrived at the school to see Brayden on a stretcher and half of the school surrounding him. We followed the ambulance to the hospital where the paramedics and hospital staff took such great care of him. Brayden took a moment to say a prayer that he would be alright. When the doctor told us the news it tore our hearts to hear that he had broke both this tibia and fibula and he would be in a cast for the next 6 weeks. The hardest part was realizing that Brayden's season as quarterback was over. We tried to cheer him up by telling him he is following in his footsteps of his hero Tom Brady but it didn't help much. Brayden was so tough and he didn't even get put under when they set his leg. He's focusing on the good by enjoying a lot more video games then usual. He is such an amazing kid and we are so grateful that he is alright but talk about bad timing. Is there a good time for a broken leg??? It's just ironic that I was so afraid that he would get hurt in football and he got hurt playing at school. Life is funny that way.

Check out that huge bump!!!

Brayden you are such a tough kid! You will be up and moving in no time, but until then enjoy the free pass to play video games all day long! Christian wants to come and visit you to keep you company.
P.S. Lisa that post made me cry.

Lisa I can't thank you enough for all your help that day. You were so sweet to drop everything and come to the hospital to get Wyatt, London and Tyson. We also wanted to thank Chris for helping Chip give Brayden a blessing. You guys are such great friends and really appreciate all that you do!!!

That is so sad! My leg hurts for him! I'm not sure how I will react when I get my first phone call like that.

Oh lisa, I am so sorry about Brayden. My heart just aches for precious brayden that just loves to play sports and now has to sit out and watch for the rest of seaso. At least it is going to be winter soon, with not us much action. BUt I am so sorry, those are the dreaded phone calls. I hope you are doing okay, that is hard on the parents too, especially having to watch your own child in so much pain. Take care of yourself too.amy

And by the way, you nailed all the stuff about Kiddie Kandids right on, I was laughing so hard. I will totally do pictures with you any day that would be so fun.

I'm so sorry to hear about Brayden, tough luck! This will make him a stronger person as all trials make us stronger.

Yesterday I got that same phone call only I know when they call it's about Andrew falling and getting hurt and this time he ran his head into a poll at the playground but luckily he didn't split any skin he has a nice big bruise where his eyebrow is.

Poor kids I wish we could just put a bubble around them so they wouldn't get hurt.

Tell Brayden to work on the Indian Jones game because Ryan has no idea how to play it and then they can have a game night. If you need anything give me a call.

Oh Lisa, what a bummer! I swear that every kid in our neighborhood has broken his arm on our monkey bars EXCEPT Dalton. It's probably just a matter of time, but I am NOT looking forward to it! We should have you guys up to play video games here (can Brayden even get in the car with that cast on?) Dalton always loves an excuse to play the Wii!
